Mohammad Afzal Khan – Labour and Co-operative Party
Khan is currently the Shadow Minister of State for Immigration, having held that post since July 2017. He was Lord Mayor of Manchester from 2005-2006 and from 2014-2017 was a Member of European Parliament for North West England.
He has also served as Assistant-Secretary General of the Muslim Council of Britain and is currently its North West representative.
Jackie Pearcey – Liberal Democrats
First occupying the Gorton North seat on Manchester City Council in 1991, it was a position that Pearcey held until 2012. She has previously run for the Lib Dems in Bolton West (2010), Ribble Valley (2015) and Gorton (2017). She received 17.2%, 5.3% and 5.7% of the vote respectively.

Tyrrell has stood twice before for the Green Party, both in the Manchester local elections, in 2018 in Ancoats and Beswick and 2019 for Whalley Range.
She has stated that this is a climate election and has asked people to vote with their hearts, as opposed to tactical voting.
